Charlotte DeMott  > Photography > It's All Kate's Fault
I started looking for information on a local mountain biking trail. Instead, I found the impressive photo gallery of Kate, a student in our group. Her innocent comment "The more pictures you take, the better you'll get" is what started this. She didn't realize that she had just challenged me to lug my camera everywhere and use up my time editing photos. Thanks, Kate. I think. It's all your fault!

Charlotte DeMott > The photo challenge: When do YOU find time to take photos? This is a screenshot of my calendar for the week of January 22, 2007, the week I started this photo gallery. It looks like I might have some time to photograph a) the inside of my office, or b) the Colorado landscape at night, as seen from a moving vehicle.
Charlotte DeMott > Jan 20, 2007: While Connor and Jake took their first snowboarding lesson at Eldora, I ventured onto the nearby Jenny Creek trail with my XC skis. It was easily the worst XC ski conditions I've ever encountered (hard packed, crusty ice, and steep-ish descents on single-track trail). This was the only nice photo opportunity, but I liked the result.
Charlotte DeMott > Jan 22, 2007: I'm home with a sick Maggie today, so I ran down the street to our neighborhood open area to snap these pictures. I'm a sucker for frost on plants. The frost was only minimal today, but you take what you can get.
Charlotte DeMott > Jan 22: More frost.
Charlotte DeMott > Jan 22: A sample from the morning's series entitled "Learning how to shoot into the sun OR Going blind in my right eye."
Charlotte DeMott > Jan 27: A nice day for yard visitors. Three Cedar Waxwings stopped by to munch on some crabapples from our tree. Unfortunately, I think these shots demonstate just how "soft" my Sigma 70-300 has become.
Charlotte DeMott > Another of the masked bandits.
Charlotte DeMott > It's amazing to watch these guys choke down the crabapples.
Charlotte DeMott > At the same time, this little Ruby Crowned Kinglet spent some time flitting around the aspen tree. They move SO fast, that I had to take about 50 shots to get these two that actually show his ruby crown.
